a handful of radishes

I'm a big fan of radishes. They're just so yummy and healthy. I think of them as beautiful winter strawberries.

sometimes the thing you need most is the world in a face full of stinging sandy wind. it's also a walk with your hands buried deep in your pockets, a few rockpools with sea anemones to explore and a slightly gritty icecream.

a weekend away

a flannelette shirt, photographs, cold fingers and a walk through the mist.

dear winter

thank you for my new flannelette shirt. it makes me look like a logger and i don't mind one tiny bit.

i'm off to chop up wood for the roaring fire inside.

mine

one year with a dance at mighty, a first kiss outside nic-nacs, cold evenings of too clovey mulled wine, all the beards and then suddenly non-beards, one long summer and a winter of late night banoffee pie.

i'm yours. thank you for being mine x

goodbye

goodbye winter. i will miss your rain on my tongue. your biting wind in my face. and the way the slightest glance of the sun makes me smile. i will miss the bare trees and my cold hands tucked inside his warm woollen pockets.

i will miss you. but... i want this.

i want the dry cracked earth. i want burning feet as i run down to the water. i want to feel the sun tickling my skin. sunhats. and sticky fingers from my dripping iceblock. and to be so thirsty that i can't think of anything else.
